Donald William Casper Sr.

Donald William Casper Sr., 70, of Murphysboro, died at home on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025. 

He was born on Sept. 13, 1954, in Cobden, the son of William Lynn and Shirley Cross Casper. 

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Casper of Carbondale; son Dee (Sarah) Casper of Pottsville, Pa.; brother-in-law Charles McCann of Carbondale; nephew Chad (Ashley) McCann; niece Jamie (Jeff) Howard; great-nieces Jaycee McCann, Madeline McCann and Elizabeth Howard; great-nephew Thomas Howard; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father, William Lynn Casper, and sister, Jacqueline McCann.

Mr. Casper worked for Jackson County Senior Adult Services. He was a man of great faith. He saw himself as a servant to others and enjoyed serving his community however he could. He had a passion for photography, especially photographing things in nature. 

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 8, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be private at the Casper Cemetery near Anna. Memorials can be made to the Casper Cemetery.
