Frank Tinsley

Frank Tinsley, 80, of Mounds, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on July 28, 1943, in Anna, the son of William and Hazel Dailey Tinsley.  

He married Frances Murphy on May 24, 1980.  She preceded him in death on June 1, 2004.

Mr. Tinsley was a truck driver. He ran the Zephyr Station in Mounds, worked for Arkansas Glass and ran the GNC in Jonesboro, Ark., from 1983 to 1991.  

He was a Mason and a Shriner and a wood worker.  He was an Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed collecting baseball cards.  

Survivors include his son, Richard (Tracy) Tinsley of Mascoutah; son Jeffrey Tinsley of Jackson, Mo.; brother Farrel Tinsley of Danville; brother Loil “Red” Tinsley of Cape Girardeau; brother Harold Tinsley of St. Amot, La.; sister Diane Honkala of Danville; sister Linda Tinsley of Anna; grandchildren, Megan Rees of Cape Girardeau, Brenton (Liz) Tinsley of Mascoutah and Carson Tinsley of Mascoutah; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Arlena Williams.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers Ronnie, Herschel, Robert, Harry and Reddus; sisters Mary Ann Adams, and Brenda Tinsley; and great-granddaughter Caroline.

Funeral services were at noon Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Burial followed at McCrite Cemetery.

Masonic rites were conducted at the beginning of the funeral service by Caledonia Lodge No. 47.

Memorials can be made to McCrite Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Tamms was in charge of arrangements.
