Garry Dale Poole

Garry Dale Poole, 84, of Anna, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025, at his home. 

He was born on July 18, 1940, in Alexander County, the son of Forrest E. and Maude L. Jordan Poole. He married Karen King.

Mr. Poole is survived by his wife, Karen Poole of Anna; son David (Becki) Poole; daughters Rebecca Poole and Christina Poole-Pratt; grandchildren Kyleigh, Conner and Carly; great-grandchildren Hunter Lee, Willow Grace and Meadow Raine; sister-in-law Shirley Poole-Cooke; niece Debra and family and nephew Lindell and family. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law Ryan Pratt; and brothers Jackie E. Poole and Donald D. Poole.

In high school, he was very athletic, playing basketball and baseball. Later he enjoyed slow-pitch softball. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and an exceptional pool player, playing in a league for many years. Many will remember him as the bartender at the Four Seasons in Anna.

Garry’s family will celebrate his life this summer during their annual family 4th of July celebration.
