Gary Lee LeFevre
Gary Lee LeFevre passed away on Wednesday, July 30, at the age of 84, surrounded by Christ’s love and family members.
He was born into a loving home on Feb. 24, 1941, to Earl and Hilda (Weissenbach) LeFevre in Mound City, Ill.
He was married to Lynn (Burd) LeFevre on Dec. 27, 1961. Together, they shared over 63 wonderful years.
Gary attended Southern Illinois University, where he earned his degree in agriculture. He has been a proud supporter of the Salukis ever since.
In 1975, Gary, alongside his father-in-law and brother-in-law, founded Absorbent Clay Products in Mounds, Ill. During his time at Absorbent Clay Products, Gary was a loyal team member who put people first and strived to provide the best opportunities for his employees and their families.
As the youngest of five boys, Gary developed a love for competition and began playing sports at a young age. His love for the game is a tradition he passed down to many of his family members.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and being with animals.
He loved to take in God’s beauty all around him. He said it best, “Relax. Be patient. And enjoy the moment.”
He was a strong man of faith and was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna, and also enjoyed attending services at LaCroix Church in Cape Girardeau.
In this next phase, we know he is busy being a servant of God in his heavenly home.
Gary treasured his family and all of the wonderful memories we shared.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn; children Doug (Sally) LeFevre and Pamela LeFevre; five grandchildren Zack (Lindsey) LeFevre, Ethan (Hanna) LeFevre, Alex (Andrea Baumann) LeFevre, Megan Schmitz, and Abigail Schmitz; and three great-granddaughters Rowan LeFevre, Hasely LeFevre, and Merritt LeFevre.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers.
A Memorial Service was held at Mount Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna on Tuesday, Aug 5, 2025 with Pastor Mark Hasty officiating.

The family requests, with gratitude, that memorial contributions be made to Mount Moriah Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
