Geraldine Smith

Geraldine Smith, 78, of Anna, died at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born on Oct. 13, 1937, in Carbondale, the daughter of Everett and Cora Pearce Johnson.

She married Carl Smith, then later married Frank A. Smith.

She is survived by her nephews, Steve Sutherland of Anna and Randy Sutherland of Anna; one niece, Kathy Jones of Benton, Ky.; cousins Carolyn Murray of Jonesboro, Helen Sanders of Anna, Don Fuller of Crawfordsville, Ind., Mildred Smith of Anna and Linda Thurston of Pulaski; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands, Carl Smith and Frank A. Smith; two sisters; and one infant brother.

She was a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.

Graveside services for Mrs. Smith were at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Big Creek Cemetery near Anna, with the Rev. Jamie McBride officiating. Interment was in Big Creek Cemetery.
