Gerhonda Marie Wood

Gerhonda Marie Wood, age 52, of Dongola, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born on Nov. 3, 1972 to Richard and Carolyn (Bennett) Johnson in Doniphan, Missouri. She was married to Tony Wood and he survives.

Gerhonda was a homemaker and she loved to fish but most of all, she loved her family and particularly her grandkids.

Survivors include her husband, Tony; one daughter, Logan Wood; one son, Aaron (Megan) Wood; four grandchildren, Blake Ferrell, Mercy Wood, Jasper Wood, and Oaklynn Wood; one sister, Chasidy Kissiar; and three brothers, Johnny Johnson, Ted Johnson, and Mike Barringer.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and will be announced.

The cremation of Gerhonda Marie Wood will be personally handled by the staff of Crain Funeral Home.
