Helen Kathleen Arnold-Sanders

Helen Kathleen Arnold-Sanders, 96, of Anna, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2023, at her home. 

She was born on Aug. 22, 1927, in Union County, the daughter of Chester and Zora Mae Pearce Fuller. 

She married William “Deak” Arnold in 1944. He preceded her in death in 1969. Later, she married Thomas H. Sanders. He preceded her in death in 1991.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Arnold of Anna, Vicky Arnold of Carmi and Cathy Evans of Jonesboro; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Fuller of Crawfordsville, Ind.; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a daughter, Darlene Turner; three sisters; and two brothers.

She became a Christian at age 8 or 9. She was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church in Anna. She was very active in her church, teaching Sunday School and serving as church secretary. She loved singing to the Lord. At times, she could be heard singing on WKRO radio in Cairo. 

She enjoyed quilting and traveling with Tom and Vicky. She visited, Israel, Jerusalem, Alaska and other destinations, along with numerous trips to Branson, Mo. Of course, she always had time to help care for her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Helen Arnold-Sanders were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Perry Williams officiating. Interment followed in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
