James William ‘Jimbo’ Ivan Rowan

James William “Jimbo” Ivan Rowan, 47, of Dongola, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021, at his home.  

He was born on July 20, 1974, in Hammond, Ind., the son of James William and Betty Joanne Baggett Rowan. 

Mr. Rowan was an over the road truck driver. He loved fishing and working on model trains. He was a great father and a good friend to all.  

He is survived by his children, Ethan Cole (Sierra) Rowan of Perks and Mckenzy Rowan of Dongola; his mother, Betty Rowan of Dongola; siblings Anita Elliot of Dongola, Joseph Rowan of Jonesboro and Roger Rowan of Anna; many other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his father and by a sister, Jeanne Dalton. 

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, at the Dongola Community Center.
