Jeanette Imogene Shaffer

Jeanette Imogene Shaffer, 84, of Zionsville, Ind., went to be with the Lord peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

She was born in Wolf Lake on Dec. 27, 1936, a daughter of Arthur and Daisy Butcher Brown. 

She married the love of her life, Bob Shaffer, on Sept. 3, 1955, and they spent 66 wonderful years together. 

At an early age, she professed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ at Anna First Baptist Church. 

She graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School in Anna in 1955, and began her family. 

Bob and Jeanette had four boys. She spent most of her life as a full-time mother, eventually graduating to grandmother and finally, great-grandmother. 

Survivors include her husband, Bob Shaffer, children Kent (Carol) Shaffer, Mike (Linda) Shaffer, Randy (Ploi) Shaffer and Chris Shaffer; grandchildren Kristin (Aaron) Hale, Derek Shaffer, Adam Shaffer, Jordan (Jess) Shaffer, Shelby (Luke) Calvert, Baleigh Shaffer and Shaine Shaffer; great-grandchildren Adrianna Hale, Liam Hale, Blake Shaffer and Baker Calvert; brothers James Brown, Mickey Brown and Steven Brown; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Simplicity Funeral and Cremation Care in Zionsville, Ind. Burial immediately followed in Salem Cemetery in Zionsville, Ind.
