John R. (Dick) Davis

Schaumburg, Illinois – John R. (Dick) Davis, 89, died on Oct. 6, 2022, at Friendship Village in Schaumburg.

He was born in Anna to his parents, J. Lester and Estella. 

He attended and graduated from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he met his wife of 64 years, Enzina (Borello). 

Upon graduation from SIU, he began a career as a history teacher at Belleville Township High School West. He later worked in the admissions department at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He was a loving and dedicated father to his two children, Chris and Lisa. 

He loved classical music, watches, clothes, St. Louis Cardinals baseball and, most of all, his family. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Enzina, and daughter, Lisa.  

He is survived by his son Chris and grandchildren Savannah, Caroline, Jack and Corinne.

A celebration of life will be held for him and his wife Enzina on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home, 135 W. Vienna St., Anna. A private inurnment will be held at the Anna Cemetery.
