Johnny Ray "Bam Bam" New
Johnny Ray "Bam Bam" New, 58, of Cobden, died Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his home.
He was born on March 22, 1958, in Muncie, Ind., the son of Lee Hollis and Hazel Malone New.
He married Ruth Seals on Aug. 14, 1976.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth New of Cobden; a son, Johnny "Jay" (Hailey) New of Dongola; a daughter, Natasha (Ben) Casey of Anna; four grandchildren, Kailey and Paisley New, Keron and Kayleen; two sisters, Ginger "Twink" (Bryan) Morrison of Cobden and Patricia (Pete) Williams of Annapolis, Mo.; two brothers, Clyde (Cindy) New of Bryant, Ind., and Larry (Charlotte) New of Muncie, Ind.; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Zane; and one brother, Charles Maurice New.
He worked as a carpenter and truck driver for many years and was a Harley Davidson fan. He served in the U.S. Army.
Funeral services for Mr. New were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Jeff Starr officiating. Interment was in the Cobden Cemetery.
Graveside military rites were conducted by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW in Anna.
