June Guthrie

June Guthrie, 85, of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and formerly of Metropolis and Alto Pass, died Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 19, 1938, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Vero and Elva Hale Guthrie.

She loved gardening and worked at the Walmart garden center for several years.

She is survived by her daughter, Alissa Yates; a son, Bradley Yates; three grandchildren, Cortney Finley, David Wilson and Colby Barefield;  sisters Ellen Belt and Angela Thorne; and brothers Lendall Guthrie and Charles Guthrie.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ronda Wilson; a granddaughter, Breanna Wilson; brothers Kendall Guthrie and Roger Guthrie; and sisters Vivian Guthrie and Yvonne Wagner.

A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Alto Pass Cemetery.

Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro was in charge of arrangements.
