Kathleen Trexler
Kathleen Trexler, 82, passed peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at her home.
She was born April 22, 1939, in Alto Pass, the daughter of Delmar and Vesta Davis Berry.
She married John Paul Trexler on Feb. 11, 1958. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1989.
Mrs. Trexler is survived by her children, Paula (Matt) Wettig of Anna, Roger Trexler of Carbondale, Dennis Trexler of Tamms, Ronnie (Cindy) Trexler of Anna and Kathy Grimm of Buncombe; grandchildren Amy (Russell) Wettig-Tripp, Chris Trexler, Sarah (Chris) Sullens, Jessica (Richard) Hendrix, Matthew P. Wettig, Samantha (Shaun) Ellis, John Trexler, Hope Trexler, Darrien Trexler and Trevor Trexler: great-grandchildren Bailey Wettig, Gavin Sullens, Matthew “Gabe” Wettig, Jerni Sullens, Aubree Ellis, Violet Tripp, Madalynn, Jakalynn and Brooklyn; and sisters Rita Trexler and Patricia Peshoff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her siblings, Tom Berry, Timmy Berry, John Berry and Ruby Coffman.
She always said her happiest years were raising her children and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a housewife and stay-at-home mother while her children were young.
She worked at the old shoe factory in Anna for a period of time. She cared for many of her grandchildren and worked as a babysitter after John Paul’s passing.
She loved spending time with Gabe, Paula and Jessica. She enjoyed attending church with Jess when Jess was young and into her teen years. They attended the former First Church of God in Anna and the First Christian Church in Anna.
She loved to have Sarah perm her hair, and Jess would color it. She enjoyed reading, shopping and watching true crime documentaries. She loved to wear pretty clothes and floral perfume and to eat Chinese food.
Graveside funeral services for Kathleen Trexler were at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Alto Pass Cemetery, with Rev. Joseph Hawkins officiating. Interment followed.
