Kathryn Crider
Kathryn Crider, 92, of Anna, and formerly of Manteno, died Monday, Jan. 13, 2025, at Integrity Healthcare in Anna.
She was born on Nov. 22, 1932, in Pomona, the daughter of George and Dora Della King Forby.
She married William Marshall Crider on Nov. 24, 1951, in Trussville, Ala. He preceded her in death on Aug. 28, 2008.
She is survived by her children, Marshall Crider of Florida, Marsha (Sam) Simmons of Georgia, Bobbie Joe Crider of Tennessee and Delaina Caise (fiancé Ron Gordon) of Tennessee; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Marshall Crider; daughter Gertrude Mae Crider; son Allen Dale Crider; granddaughter Leslie Crider; sisters Ruby Cobb, Ethel Messamore, Clara McCormick, Nadine Bridgeman, Ruth Russell, Lora Forby, Nellie Forby and Naomi Simmons; brother George Forby; and son-in-law Allen J. Caise.
In the early 1950s, she moved to Northern Illinois and worked at the Kankakee State Hospital. After she and William married, they moved to Manteno, where they built their home and raised their family.
When William retired from General Motors, they decided to return to Southern Illinois. She dearly loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Visitation services will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in Union Park Cemetery in Chaffee, Mo.
