Kenneth Howard Sifford
Kenneth Howard Sifford went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 18, 2024.
He was born on Feb. 1,1959, in Redlands, Calif., the son of Lynn DeWitt Sifford and Anne Farmer Sifford.
Kenny’s early years were spent in Fairborn, Ohio, before becoming enrolled in the Illinois state system for education and assisted living.
His favorite pastime was coloring, which he did daily for hours on end, when he was not at workshop. He always had hundreds of markers and coloring books at his disposal. Nothing made him happier than getting a new Sharpie marker, unless it was a hamburger, fries and a soda.
He looked forward to spending a couple of weeks each Christmas with his dad and then his brother, Tom and family, after his father’s death in 2001.
Hotel visits several times per year with his brother and sister-in-law were happy times for him, also because he could swim, go to the movies, eat lots of burgers at a restaurant and go to Walmart.
In the last several years, as Kenny’s health declined, he could depend on love and care from the staff at his group home. He had a special relationship with staff member Debbie. Angie R., Angie K., Sarah, Zoie, Jameria, Deborah and Dani were his most recent loving caregivers, along with Amanda, A’Drenna and many others over the years.
Kenny forever changed the life of his nephew, Reid, by giving him a heart for those with special needs and therefore directing Reid’s career choice.
Kenny is survived by his sisters, Nancy (Frank) Spolrich and Susan (Joseph) Smith; brothers Pete (Susan) Sifford and Tom (Debra) Sifford; five nephews, four nieces and the residents and staff at his group home. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenny will be laid to rest in the Anna Cemetery in Anna.
