Laura J. Smith

Laura J. Smith, age 63, of Dongola, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025 at her home in Dongola.

She was born on July 8, 1962 to Thomas A. and Robbie (Reynolds) Hegarty in Michigan.

Laura had worked as a CPA and had also worked at the AJ One Stop.

Survivors include her son, Johnathan Hegarty; her mother, Robbie Yeager, siblings, Rick Hegarty, Robin McCammant, Shawna Weida, Bryan Simmons, and Nikki Wood; along with nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her father.

No service will be held at this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Crain Funeral Home to help with expenses.

The cremation of Laura J. Smith will be personally handled by the staff of Crain Funeral Home.
