Linda Sue Lingle
Linda Sue Lingle, 79, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
She was born on July 27, 1944, in Cairo, the daughter of Clifford and Lily Dickerson Betts.
She married Kenneth Lee Lingle on April 20, 1963.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Lingle; daughters Kendra Lingle and Melanie (Kurt) Hileman, all of Jonesboro; grandchildren Zane Lingle-Linder, Nicole Hileman and April Shields; great-grandchildren Madison and Averie Dickenson, Millie and Asher Shields; special niece Sally Betts of Elco; a brother-in-law, Roger Knupp of Tamms; a sister-in-law, Mary Betts of Elco; other nieces and nephews; other relative and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Debbie Knupp; and a brother, Lacie Betts.
She was the matriarch of her family and was known as “Momma of the Hill.” She was always nurturing, caring and protective of her family.
She enjoyed traveling with Kenneth on trips out west, watching her hummingbirds and tending to her flowers. Her kind soul and cherished memories will live forever in the hearts of those she loved.
