Linde Ann Caraker-Owens

Linde Ann Caraker-Owens, 72, of Cobden, died Saturday, May 4, 2024, at her home. 

She was born on Sept. 23, 1951, in Germany before being adopted by American serviceman Roy Milford and Norma Jean Crist Anderson. 

She married Jim Owens on Nov. 30, 2015. He preceded her in death on Dec. 28, 2022.

She is survived by her children, Angela Maelene (John) Grant of Buncombe, Robert Eugene (Gretchen) Caraker Jr. of Dover, Pa., and Valerie (Brandon) Caraker of Cobden; grandchildren Leaonna Reena Robinett, Tina Marie Grant, Katie Jo Grant, Destiny Danielle Wheaton, Michael Eugene Wheaton, MacKenzie Viola Wheaton and Brandie Paige Caraker; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Anderson of Decatur; other relatives and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her birth mother, Isolde Jean Lutz; a daughter, Brandie Danielle Caraker; and a brother, Stephen.

She loved spending time with her family and her neighbors. She was a very spiritual person. If you had any questions about the other side, she could tell you. She was a smart woman, full of wisdom and very beautiful. Her final answer to everything was, “Okay, fine.”

Though we will miss her dearly, she was ready and even expressed that to her children. Just remember, as the spiritual woman she was, with the days coming and after visits from children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the company of her lovely neighbor, we believe that the Lord knew Saturday, May 4, would be her peace day. She just needed us all in the right places. She will always be watching over us. We love you and miss you. It’s not goodbye, it’s until we meet again.

The family of Linde Caraker-Owens will host a celebration of her life. Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is assisting the family with arrangements.
