Lola Elaine Johnson
Lola Elaine Johnson, 72, of Cobden, died Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1948, in Cobden, the daughter of Walter and Lola Saddler Wilson.
She married Roy Johnson on Jan. 13, 1968, in Alto Pass.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Roy Johnson of Cobden; three children, Kimberly Marks of Springfield, Mo., Roy Scott (Michelle) Johnson of Cobden and Jennifer (Sonny) Gomez of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Kelsey) Ramsey, Dustin (Amy) Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey (fiancé Dennis), Dina Gomez, Emilia and Alec Williamson, Payton Gomez and Xavier Dominguez; nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Blake, Mason, Logan and Ellie Ramsey, Martha Gomez, Evanessa, Kingsten and Adelina Kobilinsky; two sisters, Nancy Schroeder of Chester and Phyllis Vanmeter of Minonk; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Bethany Johnson, two brothers, Jim and Bud Wilson; and four sisters, Evelyn Gurtis, Jean Ferguson, Shirley Boucher and Barb Smith.
Mrs. Johnson was a beautician for many years. After retirement, she delivered flowers for Jan’s House of Flowers. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching the hummingbirds and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Sept. 10, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Pastor Raymond Baggott officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
Friends can call after 10 a.m. and until the service at noon on Friday, Sept. 10, at the funeral home.
Memorials can be made to the Johnson family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Those attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering.
