Manuel Mejia Palacios

Manuel Mejia Palacios, 86, of Cobden, died Friday, May 17, 2024, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. 

He was born on March 10, 1938, in Mexico, the son of Andres Mejia and Eliseria Palacios. He married Maria Chairez.

He is survived by his wife, nine children, one brother, many grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He enjoyed being outside, working in and looking over the fields. He enjoyed growing many vegetables. He also loved planting, cultivating and growing grapes and did so for many years at Von Jakob Winery.

Funeral Mass for Manuel Mejia Palacios was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden, with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment followed in the Cobden Cemetery. 

The Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Monday, May 20, at the funeral home.
