Marc Walker

Marc Walker, age 51, of Thebes, Ill., passed away at 5:02 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Marc was born Oct. 8, 1973, in Cape Girardeau, Mo. to Raymond Barry and Janice Kay (Evans) Walker.

He was a riverboat Captain with ACBL in Cairo, Ill. for 24 years and 8 months. Marc enjoyed working and riding side by sides around Horseshoe Lake.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice Kay (Evans) Walker; paternal grandparents, Ray and LaVerne Walker; and maternal grandmother, Jewitt Evans.

Survivors include his father, Raymond Barry Walker of Anna, Ill.; son, Trevor Walker of Olmsted, Illinois; daughter, Sydnie (Walker) Ross of Olmsted, Ill.; grandchildren, Harlan, Hayden and Haizley Walker; sister, Vonnie (Walker) Pitts of Anna, Ill.; niece, Aubrey (Dustin) Dillow of Anna, Ill.; uncle, Dick (LaVaughan) Evans of Lafayette, Ind.; life partner, Angela Johnson of Thebes, Ill.; Angela’s children and granddaughter, Tayia Duncan, Heather Duncan, Russell Duncan and Piper all of New Galilee, Pa.; other relatives and friends. 

Visitation was held from on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Cremation followed.

Jones Funeral Home Villa Ridge is in charge of the arrangements.
