Marilyn Patterson, 71, of Cobden, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Charleston, S.C.
She was born on April 1, 1947, in Anna, the daughter of Alva and Ruby Lacy Duskey.
She married Richard Rodger Patterson on Dec. 30, 1974, in Sharpe, Ky. He preceded her in death on June 25, 2015.
She is survived by her daughter, Alva Lynn (Clif) Pike of Ladson, S.C.; a son, Roger (Alesia) Patterson of Dongola; five grandchildren, Whitney Kay (Bobby) Whitehead, Brooke Nicole (Ethan) Toedte, Brock James Patterson, Brandon Earl Pike and Chelsea Raelynn Pike; five great-grandchildren, Carter Logan Whitehead, Mason Hunter Whitehead, Kysten Brock Toedte, Knute Alan Toedte and Grayson Earl Pike; a brother, Mike Duskey; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Rodger Patterson; and one brother, Ernest Forehand.
She was retired from the Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center in Anna. She loved spending time with her family, and in her spare time sewing and crafting.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with the Rev. LaRue Parr officiating. Interment was in Rowan Cemetery in Makanda.
