Marlene Flamm Rich
Marlene Flamm Rich, 92 of Marion, and formerly of Cobden, died Monday, July 22, 2024, at Parkway Manor in Marion.
She was born on Nov. 1, 1931, in Cobden, the daughter of Fred C. and Mae Hodges Flamm.
She married H. Gordon Rich on Nov. 1, 1949, in Cairo. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1996.
She is survived by her two sons, Steven C. (Jo) Rich of Marion and Chris (Linda) Rich of Hamilton, Ala.; three grandchildren, Steven Matthew (Becky) Rich, Jenni Jo Rich and C. Collin (Erin) Rich; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H. Gordon Rich; two sisters, Ethel Mae Blunt and Audrey Ann Vitt; and a brother, Charles Flamm.
She was a member of the Heartland Christian Church in Marion. She loved having Bible study with her friends at Parkway. She was formerly a member of the Cobden Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the piano. She was known to love crocheting, and later in life she enjoyed adult coloring books.
She cherished her time traveling with her husband in their RV and camping with their Cobden friends. She was proud to be part of the American Legion Auxiliary for World War II wives.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 25, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden, with Greg Gibbs officiating. Interment immediately followed in the Cobden Cemetery.
