Mary Kaufman McIntosh
Mary Kaufman McIntosh, 96, of Dongola, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on July 21, 1928 to Jake F. and Vida B. (Workman) Daubs in Cairo, Ill. She was married to Vancil Kaufman until he passed away in 1967, then on July 4, 1969, she married Irvin McIntosh and were together over 35 years until his passing on Aug. 3, 1994.
Mary was a member of Wetaug Church of Christ. She belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxillary, and the Rural Letter Carriers Auxillary. Mary also served on the Dongola Homecoming Committee for many years and she served on the Dongola City for Action Committee, which was instrumental in building the Dongola Clinic.
Survivors include her children, Tony (Susan) Kaufman, Mark (Sandra) Kaufman, Phyllis Karraker, and Marcia Bailey; 11 grandchildren, Mary Beth, Patrick, Donna, Nicholas, Jessie, Michelle, Stacy, Joshua, Jill, Andrew, and Stephanie; 21 great- grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Along with her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her son, Dan Kaufman; daughter, Ginger Kaufman; brother, Jim Daubs; and sister, Dorotha Stevens.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 2 p.m. with Brent Miller officiating at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola. A visitation will be held the day of service at the funeral home from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m.
Interment will follow the funeral Service at Christian Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Christian Chapel Cemetery.
