Merle Steven Gordon

Merle Steven Gordon, 57, of Anna, died Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home. 

He was born on Dec. 30, 1965, in Muskegon, Mich., the son of Harold William and Myrtle May Bissell Gordon.

Mr. Gordon is survived by his son, Andrew Gordon of Belleville; a sister, Bonnie (Rick) Cast of Anna; brothers Eugene (Barbie) Gordon of Ottawa, Raymond (Rhonda) Gordon and Abe Gordon, all of Muskegon, Mich., Chris Kimmel of Michigan and twin brother Mike Gordon of Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Terry Gordon; and sisters Sarah Kimmel, Carol Rickett and Delberta Stevens.

Mr. Gordon served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Crosspoint Church in Anna. 

Graveside funeral services for Merle Gordon were at 1 p.m. Monday, July 3, at Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City, with Pastor Philip Rexing officiating. Interment immediately followed. 

Graveside military rites were conducted by the Illinois National Guard military honors team of Marion and a team of area veterans.
