Merle Walker

Merle Walker, 81, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, at the Marion V.A. Medical Center. 

He was born on Aug. 27, 1940, in Jonesboro, the son of Henry Willard and Elnora Elizabeth Reynolds Walker.       

Mr. Walker is survived by his life partner of 30 years, Marjorie Rendleman of Jonesboro; sons Joe Walker of Cape Girardeau, Tony (Cathy) Rendleman of Murphysboro and John Rendleman of Jonesboro; four grandchildren, Jordyn Rendleman, Jared Rendleman, Johnny (Eunice) Rendleman and Lily Helleny; a great-grandson, Legend Rushing; brothers Joe Walker of Lake of Egypt and John (Karen) Walker of Pawnee; other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bill Walker; and a  brother, Richard Walker.       

He was retired from CIPS as a boiler operator. He loved riding his motorcycle and enjoying life.       

Funeral services were at 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. Randy Morgan officiating. 

Military rites were conducted immediately after the service by Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 of the VFW and the Illinois Army National Guard funeral honor team of Marion.
