Michael David “Mike” Smith
Michael David “Mike” Smith, age 75 of Jonesboro, went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 8, 1950 in Anna, the son of William H. and Laura I. (Allen) Smith. He married Shirley Myers on April 18, 1968.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Smith of Jonesboro; two sons, Anthony Smith of Jonesboro, and Matthew (Robin) Smith of Anna; grandchildren, Alycia (Eric) Ellett, Kelsie Hand (fiancé Tyler Marnati), Noah Smith, Kajayah Clark, Briley Smith, his bonus children, Justin (Emily) Smith, Kinsee “Madison” Smith, Tobias Smith and Wynter Smith; great-grandchildren, Liam Brown, Raelynn Bigham, Blayne Marnati, Kaden, Makenna and Charlotte Hand, Everliegh Marnati, Jermiah and Dominic Smith, and Holland Clark; two sisters, Rhonda Watkins and Diana Reynolds, both of Anna; brother, Harold (Barb) Smith of Jonesboro; numerous nieces and nephews; other close family and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter in law, Elizabeth Lanell Clark-Smith; two brothers, Bobby K. Allen, Kevin Smith and sister, Pamela Kee.
Mike was a member of Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake for many years. His passion was truck driving, most recently working for Trainor Ag Products until his retirement.
As we all know, Mike was a jokester; he loved life and liked to cut up, everyone he loved had a nickname.
His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy; he enjoyed spending his time with them.
When Mike wasn’t in his truck he was hunting, fishing or working in the greenhouse and garden. Mike will be dearly missed by his family and all his friends.
A celebration of Mike's life was held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 at the Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake with Pastor Ron Thorn officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral home. Donations may also be made through the link available on the funeral home website.
