Morris ‘Moose’ Denis Hall

Morris “Moose” Denis Hall, 79, of Cobden, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2022. He was surrounded by his family as he went to his Heavenly home.

He was born on Aug. 8, 1942, in Aurora, the son of Lester “Gladdy” and Virginia Rose Williams Hall.

He married his beloved wife Judy Houseman on Aug. 31, 1963, in Lick Creek. Together they shared 58 years.

Moose had a contagious smile. He loved to spend time with his family, teaching them all that he knew.

Most of all, Moose had a love for Jesus that was abundant in his life. He lived to serve the Lord and taught his family to live in the same. He also instilled a strong work ethic into them.

Moose is survived by his loving wife, Judy Hall; sons Preston (Paula) Hall and Jon (Mandy) Hall; daughter Rachel (Tim) Edmonds; cherished grandchildren Cora, Cody, Colin, Julia, Kristin and Evan; brother Gladwyn (Carolyn) Hall; cousin Kathy (Brent) Hileman; many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the United Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Paul Sadler and the Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. Interment followed in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek.

Memorials can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
