Patsy Childers
Patsy Childers, 77, of Dongola, died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Sept. 15, 1941, in Wetaug, the daughter of John Doyle and Ines Viola Miller Rider.
She married Leo Childers on Oct. 25, 1960, in Elgin. Together they ran a business, L&P Carpet which is still in business now for over 40 years.
Patsy and Leo were members of the First Baptist Church in Dongola for many years.
She loved her yard work and planting flowers. She had a true talent for quilt making. Family came first for her and she loved to cook and have the family over. Her beautiful smile and her love for her family would show on her face.
She is survived by her husband, Leo Childers of Dongola; two daughters, Patricia (Kevin) Cox of Dongola and Pamela (James) Rendleman of Anna; four grandchildren, Kassi (Justin) Needling, Kyle Cox, Jayda Rendleman and Jared Rendleman; three great-grandchildren, Jayci Needling, Kynlee Needling and Charlee Needling; a brother, Philip Rider of Wetaug; and a sister, Connie Rider Duty of Vienna. She was proceeded in death by her parents.
Funeral services were at noon Friday, Jan. 11, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment was in the Anna Cemetery.
