Paul Wayne Pender
Paul Wayne Pender, 83, of Cobden, died Thursday, March 17, 2022, at his home, with his family by his side.
He was born on Jan. 11, 1939, in Alto Pass, the son of Fred and Helen Rhodes Pender.
He married Marilyn Dillon on Nov. 5, 1983, in Cobden.
Mr. Pender is survived by his wife, Marilyn Pender of Cobden; a son, Karry (Sondra) Pender of Jonesboro; grandchildren Justin (Lindsey) Pender of Wolf Lake and Christopher Pender of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren Cole, Shelby and Jaydra; brothers Fred (Maxine) Pender of Jonesboro, Don (Sarah) Pind of Anna and Clarence (Becky) Pind of Florida; sisters Mildred Fox of Jonesboro and Barbara Barlow of Anna; a stepsister, Cuba Payne of Texas; sisters-in-law Pam Pind of Jonesboro and Linda Park of Cobden; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by parents; brothers Gib Pender, Mike Pind and John Pender; a stepbrother, Jim Pind; brothers-in-law Jim Fox and Corky Barlow; sisters-in-law Sharon Witthoft and Louella Pender.
Mr. Pender enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 VFW Auxiliary, the Anna Moose Lodge and Operating Engineers Local 318. He worked as an operator for the Union County Highway Department. He was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church for many years.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Monday, March 21, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment was in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the VFW’s Carroll P. Foster Post No. 3455 in Anna.
