Pauline Ruth Farrar

Pauline Ruth Farrar, 90, of Marion, formerly of Carbondale, passed away, Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the Voyage of Marion. 

She was born April 18, 1934 in Cobden the daughter of Milo M. and Inis H. (Hayden) Starling. 

She married Edward Farrar on Dec. 8, 1952 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2004, together they shared 52 wonderful years of marriage. 

Pauline is survived by her two granddaughters, Andrea (Charles) Swope and Jerrica (Vince) Perez; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Ardell (Jane) Starling; sisters, Barbara Waldrop, Patricia (Lynn) Newcomb; sister-in-law, Carole Starling, several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Farrar; son, Greg Farrar; and nephew, Michael Newcomb. 

Pauline was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Paducah for many years. She retired from Southern Illinois University where she worked for twenty years as an Administrative Secretary. 

Funeral services were on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment followed in the Cobden Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gospel Assembly Church or donor’s choice.
