Richard ‘Allen’ Phillips
Richard “Allen” Phillips, 62, of California, died on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, Calif.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1956, in Vienna, the son of Claude and Helen Phillips.
He graduated from Hancock Place High School in Lemay, Mo. He attended Meramec College, with a focus on business.
He pursued a career in banking, finance, investments and insurance that spanned 44 years.
He most enjoyed helping people to secure their financial futures and took great pride in giving back to the community through his work at Modern Woodmen of America.
He was a cowboy, athlete and adventurer who loved horses, motorcycles, sports, boating and travel. He will always be remembered for his witty sense of humor and ability to make everyone feel at ease around him.
He loved bringing joy to others, especially his family and friends.
Survivors included his wife of 44 years, Aleda; his daughter, Majhon, and his son-in-law, Noah Wiseman; as well as dear friends; his nieces, Christel Prater and Nikki Phillips Craig; grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Garry.
A celebration of life will be held on Dec. 7, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Jackson Civic Center, 381 W. Derwood Dr., in Jackson, Mo.
Lima-Campagna-Johnson Funeral Home in California was in charge of arrangements.
