Robert ‘Bo’ Wright

Robert “Bo” Wright, 94, of Anna, and formerly of Ava, died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1930, in Ava, the son of Waldo Manning and Frieda Whistler Wright.  

He married Ernestine Tompkins on Aug. 6, 1950.  She preceded him in death on Dec. 22, 2008.

He graduated from Anna-Jonesboro Community High School. He co-managed the Jonesboro Rock Quarry with his brother Leslie for many years.  

Mr. Wright enjoyed fishing, golf and following A-J sports, especially girls’ sports.   

Survivors include his son, Bob (Jeanie) Wright; daughter Janice Wright; grandchildren Diana (Blake) LeFevre and Aaron (Sarah) Wright; great-grandchildren Hunter LeFevre, Maxwell Adams, Avery Adams, Harper LeFevre and Rowan Wright; nephew Leslie (Barbara) Wright; and niece Janie Peterson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; granddaughter Amy Michelle Wright; daughter-in-law Beverly Trammel; brother Leslie Wright; and sister-in-law Margie Wright.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with Jim Keller officiating. Burial followed at the Anna City Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation and/or the Anna-Jonesboro Community High School golf team.
