Roger Barnes

Roger Barnes, 66, of Olmsted, died at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2023, at his home, with his family by his side.

Mr. Barnes was born on July 7, 1956, in Cairo. He was a graduate of Meridian High School. 

Roger and Haidee Barnes were united in marriage in 1991.

He enjoyed horseback riding and camping. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. 

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Roger especially enjoyed hunting mule deer and elk in the high country of Colorado.

He is survived by his wife, Haidee Barnes; his son, Clint (Regina) Barnes of Olmsted; daughter Lacey (Darren) Bruce of Olmsted; his mother, Peggy Barnes of Olmsted; four grandchildren, Hadley and Graysen Barnes, Kenzie and Kody Bruce; a sister, Carla Barnes of Olmsted; nieces and nephews.

Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by his father, Bob Barnes in 2011.

Funeral services honoring the life of Roger Barnes  were at noon Monday, April 17, at Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted. Pastor Mike Sharp officiated.

Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted.

Pallbearers were Lynnie Crane, Keith Kerr, Jay Goines, Blake Crane, Keith Wilson and Garrett Wilson.
