Roger E. Travis

Roger E. Travis, 70, of Cairo, died at 2:55 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2022, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born on Dec. 5, 1951, in Mound City, the son of Wilbert and Frances Winters Travis.

He owned and operated Lawn Care by Travis. 

He was a member of Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted. He was a member of Cairo Elks Lodge No. 651. He was a former member of the Cairo Jaycees and a former member of the Cairo VFW Post.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susie; and his father-in-law, Oscar Leslie Houston Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Travis; daughters Cindy Rice and Tracey (Michael) Woodworth; a brother, Danny Travis; his mother-in-law, Mary Houston; grandchildren Travis Rice, Destiny, Aiden and Emma Woodworth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. Pastor Mike Sharp officiated.
