Sandra Carol Cato
Sandra Carol Cato, 73, of Villa Ridge, died at 6:51 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born on Dec. 28, 1944, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, the daughter of Herman E. and Helen E. Golden Read.
She married William “Bill” Cato on June 28, 1983.
She was the health and welfare fund assistant administrator for the Laborers International and Credit Union for 17 years. She attended Villa Ridge Union Church.
She is survived by her husband, Bill of Villa Ridge; sons Billy Paul Cato and Robert “Bill” Helman; special daughter Peggy Casper; grandchildren Megan Ross, Lauren Baker, Shaina Lynn Cato, Emmie Lou Cato, and Michael Cato, Layla Helman, Clara B. Helman, and Georgia Helman; great-grandchildren Colton Dale, Rebecca Lynn, Racheal Lilly, Addy and Sophia; two sisters-in-law, Susie and Patti; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her Grandma “Mama” Ola Read; and two sons, Russell Read Baker and Jeffrey Lamar Baker.
A memorial service for Sandra Carol Cato was held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Crain Funeral Home in Cairo, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating.
Inurnment will take place on the Cato family farm at a later date.
