Sharon Henderson Ivy

Sharon Henderson Ivy, 70, of Mounds, died Saturday, June 15, 2024, at her home.

She was born on April 16, 1954, in Thebes, the daughter of Melvin and Nellie Bailey Henderson.  

She married Danny Ivy on Dec. 3, 1988. 

She was retired from the Illinois Veterans Home in Anna as the business manager. She enjoyed helping others and loved her family dearly. She loved fishing and her mother-daughter trips.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Ivy; daughters Tabitha (Kenny) Smith, Telitha Smith (Mike Ireland) and Bobbie Jo (Rodney) Hurt; grandchildren Jessica, Madelynn, Kenny “Punky,” Lance, Shane and Chase; great-grandchildren Owen, Tucker, Ruby, Kendell and Kenton; brothers Paul, Benny and Kenny; nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a very special friend, Mary Lee.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Matthew Whitley; sisters Lily Modglin and Barbara Coleson; and brothers Junior, Vernon, Melvin and Wayne.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with the Rev. Bruce Clubb officiating.  Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes.
