Sharon Kay Toler
Sharon Kay Toler, 82, of Jonesboro, passed away peacefully on Nov. 25, 2024, with her family at her side.
She was born on Dec. 27, 1941, in Elgin, the daughter of Virgil Dempsey and Genevieve Dillow Wiggs.
She married Gerald Dee Toler on June 2, 1963, at Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro.
She is survived by her husband, Dee Toler of Jonesboro; two daughters, Beverly (Jon) Schaefer and Donna Beegle, and son Brian Toler, all of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Jerod Schaefer, Jacob Schaefer, Deeken Beegle, Allison Toler, Maximus Toler and Natalie Toler; brother Gary (Linda) Wiggs of Cobden; sister Diana (Paul) Craig of Belleville; brother-in-law, Carroll (Donna) Toler of Thompsonville; two aunts, Deloris “Aunt Pud” Landreth and Norma Jean Conant, both of Jonesboro; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Barb File.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jonesboro for many years. Early in her career she worked for Florsheim Shoe Factory in Anna and later retired after 21 years as a cook at Jonesboro Grade School. She dearly loved her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She will be dearly missed.
Graveside funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at the Jonesboro Cemetery, with Pastor Carroll Toler officiating. Interment immediately followed.
