Teresa Ann Greer

Teresa Ann Greer, age 77, of Cairo, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo.

She was born on Sept. 3, 1948 to Charles Edward Diggs and Irma Louise (Clancy) Diggs in Cairo, Ill. 

On Jan. 7, 1975, she married William M. Greer.

Teresa was a 1966 graduate of Cairo High School. She worked as a teller at First National Bank and Trust in Cairo and later as a secretary for Burkart Foam Manufacturing Company in Cairo. 

She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She attended Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include her children, Melanie (Chuck) Fiessinger and Rachel (Tim) Dover; five grandchildren, Teylor (Terry) Douglas, Kayla (Ryan) McCue, Zachary Dean, Courtney Fiessinger, and Chase Fiessinger; along with three great-grandchildren, Chancellor Fiessinger, Maci Douglas, and Millicent McCue.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Diggs.

A graveside service with interment was held on Monday, May 11 with Rev. Buddy Walls officiating at the Mound City National Cemetery.

The family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions may be made to Tigert Memorial United Methodist Church in Cairo, Ill.
