Teresa Sue Mowery

Teresa Sue Mowery, 57, of Dongola, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at home, surrounded by her loved ones. 

She was born on June 10, 1967 in St. Clair County, the daughter of Freddie Allen and Carolyn Sue Sharp Poole. 

She married the love of her life, Mark Allen Mowery, on Feb. 18, 1989; together they shared 35 years with one another.

She was a lifetime member of New Hope Baptist Church. She was an avid animal lover and served with multiple 4-H clubs. She loved watching her children show their animals at fairs. 

She spent her working career at Dongola School, Cypress Grade School and Dairy Queen in Anna. She enjoyed cooking new recipes, sewing and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Mowery; son Caleb Mowery; and daughter Callie Mowery, all of Dongola; her parents, Freddie and Carolyn Poole of Anna; sister Janette (Mark) Linton of Anna; mother-in-law Joyce Mowery of Dongola; brother-in-law John (Lora) Mowery of Dongola; sister-in-law Carla (Joe) Roach of Stonefort; nephews Patrick Linton of Anna, Joshua Linton (Tiffany Neely) of Jonesboro, Jacob (Kyli) Linton of Anna, Jeff (Brittany) Roach of Vienna and Greg (Jillian) Roach of Dongola; nieces Christina Mowery of Dongola and Heather (Josh) Tucker of Marion; five great-nephews; three great-nieces; numerous aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends. 

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Carroll Mowery; and great-nephew Landon Linton.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Carl Dillow officiating. Interment was held privately at St. John’s Cemetery west of Dongola. 

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
