Velda Sivia Allen Brown

Velda Sivia Allen Brown left this earth on April 28, 2023, at the age of 85. 

She was born on Jan. 18, 1938, the only child of Troy and Euba Karraker Sivia. She worked as the Dongola city clerk most of her life.

On Aug. 5, 1959, she married Hadley Allen of Perryville, Mo. He preceded her in death Feb. 24, 1967, at the young age of 35. On June 25, 1988, she married Everett “Buck” Brown of Jonesboro. He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2018. She was also preceded in death by her son, Dale Allen, on Dec. 24, 2020.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Gary) Dillow of Lick Creek; a stepson, Wayne Brown of Ivesdale; granddaughter Rachel Dillow (John Fernandez) of Aurora; grandson Allen (Morgan) Dillow and two great-grandchildren, Ezra and Camilla Dillow, all of Carterville.

Memorial services for Velda Brown will be Saturday, May 13, at noon at the Wetaug Church of Christ, with Brent Miller officiating. A meal for all her friends and family members will follow. 

Memorials can be made to Wetaug Church of Christ or to Christian Chapel Cemetery.
