Virginia Mae Adams
Virginia Mae Adams, 76 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born on April 15, 1942, in Villa Ridge, the daughter of Lloyd Leonard Sr. and Edna Landis Vines
She married Basil A. Adams on Dec. 10, 1960, at Lockard Chapel Baptist Church near Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2008.
She is survived by her son, Darryl (Devan) Adams of Jonesboro; six grandchildren, Derek Jordan Adams, Molly Alise Adams, Gavin Hooks, Bailey Hooks, Zaidey Hooks and Jaicey Hooks; one great-grandchild, Paizley Smith; brothers Donald (Bonnie) Vines of Cobden and Jim (Shirley) Vines of Anna; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Basil A. Adams; a daughter, Lisa Adams; a brother, Lloyd Vines Jr.; sisters Linda Hopp and Joyce Barnhart, and infant sister, Jean Marie Vines.
She was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church. She dearly loved caring for her family.
Funeral services for Virginia Adams were at noon Saturday, Aug. 11, at Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, with Pastor David Adams and the Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Interment was in Ebenezer Hall Cemetery.
