William Robert Wynn
William Robert Wynn, 70, of Carmi, and formerly of Decatur, died Saturday, April 22, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Jan. 31, 1947, in Herrin, the son of James Robert and Veneta Berniece Taylor Wynn.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietman. He retired from the Newton Broom Factory and enjoyed working on lawnmowers, gardening and going to yard sales.
He married Carolyn Lentz on Nov. 20, 1965. She preceded him in death on Oct. 6, 2009.
He is survived by his daughter Sheila Wynn; a brother, Thomas (Helen) Wynn; sisters Ruth Woodward, Virginia (Curtis) Musgrave and Mavis (Albert) Maiden; grandsons Jon and Ryan; and a great-grandson Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, James Leon Wynn; and a son, Christopher Wynn.
Services to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home in Decatur. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services. Burial with military honors will follow in Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek.
