PAST plans to host Holiday Home Tours

The board of directors of the PAST organization of Union County met Monday, Oct. 23, at the Tripps’ “House Where Lincoln Stayed” in Anna. 

The regular monthly meeting included reports of past events and plans for future events.

PAST president Linda Hileman reported a splendid day for the ColorFest self-guided “walk around the neighborhood.” 

She thanked everyone for their participation and announced that the booklet, “Walk PAST” is still available at Country Cupboard, This ‘n That and from board members.

New this year during November is PAST’s Holiday Tour of Homes.

Event co-chairpersons Holly Wohlwend and Judy Neal announced that the theme is “Come Home Before The Holidays” and the date is Saturday, Nov. 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Holiday Home Tour includes the 120-year-old, restored Key Hole home of Jason Short on South Main Street in Anna. 

The vintage remodeled home of Linda and Rodney Sadler is on Morgan Street in Anna and will feature Christmas decor. 

Judy and Chuck Neal will host a holiday open house at their new home on Fireside Court in Anna. 

Finally, guests may tour a new home recently built by Dean Corbit east of Anna.  

Admission is $15 for all homes, or $5 for each home. Tickets can be purchased at the homes. Call Holly at 833-3839 or Judy at 833-5639 for information or to participate in hosting.

Elaine Crain reported on activities at St Anne’s Historic Church in Anna. Church pews have been refinished and the entryway has been repaired and redecorated.  A wrought-iron rail has been installed at the sidewalk stairway.

Rehearsals are underway for the play “Voices of Christmas” to be performed at 7 p.m. on Nov. 19-20 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 21 at St. Anne’s Church.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Proceeds from the play go to support St. Anne’s. For ticket reservations, call 833-9441. Seating will be limited.

“Carols at Early Candlelight” is planned Sunday, Dec. 5, at 4 p.m. at St. Anne’s Historic Church.  The evening will include Marion Michel at the vintage organ playing carols for an informal singalong. 

Other guest musicians will be Terri Goldsberry on the violin accompanied by Carla Anderson on the organ.
