PAWS dinner/auction scheduled for Nov. 13
Pets Are Worth Saving, PAWS, Inc., a local not-for-profit animal welfare organization, plans to have its annual dinner/auction fundraiser at the Great Boars of Fire Lodge on Kratzinger Hollow Road between Anna and Cobden Saturday, Nov. 13.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner is served until 7 p.m.
The dinner menu includes chicken or vegetable lasagna, tossed salad, cheesy potatoes, green bean supreme, assorted rolls, coffee/tea/water, and desserts.
There will be a silent, and oral auction, as well as raffles, and new PAWS shirts for sale.
Auction items include pieces of art work, jewelry, collectibles, celebrity memorabilia, pet supplies and gifts and items from local businesses. Admission for the evening is $30.
PAWS relies totally on private donations and fundraisers to provide temporary housing for unwanted and abandoned companion animals until they are adopted into permanent homes.
PAWS Place in Anna is a no-kill adoption center.
The ability to keep PAWS Place open and find homes for the animals depends solely on aggressive fundraising and community support.
A national website for unwanted animals in PAWS’ care can be found at www.pawspaws.petfinder.com on the Internet.
