Promoting our region

Several events held over the weekend in Union County helped to promote our community and the region while also providing what certainly must have been a welcome boost to the local economy.

The Shawnee Hills Wine Trail Festival was held Saturday and Sunday in downtown Cobden. Local wineries joined together to welcome hundreds of visitors to the region. Those on hand for the festival were enthusiastic about the event, and are looking forward to next year.

Just down the street from the Wine Trail Festival, the Union County Museum in downtown Cobden welcomed visitors for a book signing event. Also in downtown Cobden, visitors could stop by and check out work which is being done to transform the former Basler Feed Store building into a new attraction.

Not far from downtown Cobden, Darn Hot Peppers hosted a Pepper Festival which also attracted many visitors.

Each of these special events helped to contribute to the continued growth and development of our community in unique ways.
