Recycling event

Union County residents are encouraged to be a part of a free electronics recycling event which is planned this Saturday.

Electronic equipment will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the parking lot at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.

This free service is open to anyone who is interested in recycling old electronic items and is being sponsored by Southern Five Regional Planning Commission and Creative Recycling Services.

Sponsors of the event note that all electronic equipment will be accepted, with the exception of manifested hazardous waste, radioactive waste, biohazardous waste or mercury containing devices. 

Saturday's event will allow area residents to properly dispose of items which otherwise could end up in landfills. If you have some electronic equipment which you have been wanting to get rid of, bring it to Saturday's recycling event.
