Robert G. Lane

<p class="p1">Robert G. Lane, 79, of Cobden, and formerly of Michigan, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at his home.</p><p class="p1">He was born on Dec. 18, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Victor and Margaret Lane.</p><p class="p1">He married Shirley Knowles on Oct. 15, 1978. She preceded him in death on Feb. 13, 2009.</p><p class="p1">He was retired from Ford Motor Company as a boiler operator. He was very proud that he obtained his stationary engineers license.</p><p class="p1">He is survived by three sons, one step-daughter, one stepson, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.</p><p class="p1">Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18, at Crain Funeral Home in Anna-Jonesboro, with the Rev. Larry Buckles officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.
