Santa Cop program a success

A successful Santa Cop program was held during the holiday season.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Union County 911 office sponsor Santa Cop, which was held for the third year.

A Santa Cop celebration was held Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Sunshine Inn community center in Anna.

Sheriff’s office and 911 employees shopped for and wrapped more than 200 Christmas gifts.

The gifts were presented to 41 children from the Cobden, Dongola, Lick Creek and Shawnee school districts.

Fourteen families also were given grocery baskets that included items for their Christmas dinner.

Santa Cop organizers voiced their appreciation to all of those who helped make the 2009 program a success, including:
