Shannen E. Ledbetter

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:">Shannen E. Ledbetter, age 81, died November 12, 2011 at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> She was born February 11, 1930 in Pulaski, Illinois, daughter to the late Fred and Marie (Denfip) Miller.<span style=""> </span> She attended Trinity Baptist Church and had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 33 years as an operator and a clerk before retiring.</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> On September 10, 1949 she married Alfred Benton “Sarge” Ledbetter; he preceded her in death May 26, 1997.</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> She was also preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Miller; one sister, Wanda Scapino Martin; and one brother-in-law, Eugene Ledbetter.</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Ledbetter of Farmington, Missouri; four sisters, Lucille Mayberry of Tamms, Illinois, Leota Riddle of Sikeston, Rita Vines of Pulaski, Illinois and Betty Parker of Villa Ridge, Illinois; two sisters-in-law, Stella Britt of Lansing, Michigan and Mary Jane Thornton of Mounds, Illinois; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews..</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at 11:00 a.m.<span style=""> </span> The Rev. Stacy Britt of Michigan and nephew of Mrs. Ledbetter, will officiate and Rev. William Marshall, pastor of Trinity Baptist Church, will be assisting.</span></p>

<p style="line-height: 200%;" class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"><span style="">    </span> Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, Illinois.</span><span style="font-size: 14pt; line-height: 200%; font-family:"><span style="">    </span> <span style="">     </span></span></p>
